Get access to the owner portal

Who can use the Geo-Surface™ owner portal, how to ask for a login with the Ditch Assist contact form, box by box, and how to open the portal on a computer the first time.

The Geo-Surface™ owner portal is for Ditch Assist® owners only, at no charge. You log in with an account that Ditch Assist sets up for you. There is nothing to install.

Getting in has two parts. First you ask for a login with the contact form; a phone is fine for that. Then, once the login arrives by email, you open the portal on a computer.

Who can use it

Owners of a Ditch Assist control module (Full Automation Kit or Guidance Only Kit) and owners of a licensed Ditch Assist Lite receiver. The form asks for the module ID or the receiver's serial number so we can confirm the kit is yours.

DIG™ Kit owners: the form has no separate box for a DIG module. Say in the Message box that you have a DIG™ Kit, and we will follow up.

Before you start

  • Your control module's ID, or the serial number of your licensed Ditch Assist Lite receiver. Not sure where to find it? Call support (number below) and we will help.
  • Roughly when you bought the kit, and who from
  • An email address you check. The login details come by email.

How long it takes: about 5 minutes to fill in the form. Ditch Assist then checks the kit, sets up your login and emails it to you.

Ask for a login

Open the contact form

Click or tap this link: Ditch Assist contact form, owner portal access. It opens the Ditch Assist contact page with the right topic already picked.

Scroll down to the form. It starts with three white boxes: Name, Email and Phone. The pictures on this part of the page are from a phone; on a computer the form looks the same, with the boxes wider.

Top of the contact form on a phone: three empty white boxes, labelled Name, Email and Phone 1 2 3
  1. Name. Must be filled in.
  2. Email. Must be filled in. The login details are sent here.
  3. Phone. Optional, but it helps if we have a question.

Type your name, email and phone

Tap or click inside the Name box and type your name. Do the same in Email and Phone.

Check the email address letter by letter. If it has a mistake, the login can't reach you.

Check the topic

Under What is this about? the box should read Geo-Surface™ owner portal access. The link picked it for you.

If it reads something else, tap or click the box and pick Geo-Surface™ owner portal access from the list. Three more boxes appear under it.

The topic box reading Geo-Surface owner portal access, and under it three more boxes: Ditch Assist module ID or Ditch Assist Lite receiver serial number (grey hint Module ID or Reach serial number), Who did you purchase from?, and When did you purchase it? (grey hint Approximate month/year is fine) 1
  1. What is this about? Must read Geo-Surface™ owner portal access. Only then do the three kit boxes appear.

Type your module ID or receiver serial number

Tap or click the first new box. It shows Module ID or Reach serial number in grey until you type.

Type your control module's ID. For Ditch Assist Lite, type the serial number of the licensed Reach receiver instead.

The same part of the form with the module ID box highlighted 1
  1. Ditch Assist module ID or Ditch Assist Lite receiver serial number. Must be filled in.

Type who you bought it from, and when

In Who did you purchase from?, type the company that sold you the kit, or Ditch Assist if you bought direct.

In When did you purchase it?, type the month and year. A rough date is fine.

The same part of the form with the Who did you purchase from and When did you purchase it boxes highlighted 1 2
  1. Who did you purchase from? Must be filled in.
  2. When did you purchase it? Must be filled in.

Write a short message

Tap or click the big Message box. It can't be left empty. One line is enough, for example Please set up an owner portal login.

DIG™ Kit owners: say here that you have a DIG™ Kit.

The bottom of the form: a tall empty Message box and a black Send message button with an arrow 1
  1. Message. Must have something in it.

Tap Send message

Tap or click Send message, the long black button under the Message box. It reads Sending… for a moment.

If a box is missing, the form doesn't send. The browser points to the empty box instead. Fill it in and tap Send message again.

The same part of the form with the Send message button highlighted 1
  1. Send message. Sends the form to Ditch Assist.

Then wait for your login details

Ditch Assist confirms the kit is yours, creates your portal account and emails you the login details. If you have not heard back, call 1-833-DITCH-AS (1-833-348-2427) or email support@ditchassist.com, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central.

Open the portal

Do this on a computer. New to the mouse or the web browser? Read Computer basics for the portal first. It takes two minutes.

  1. Open the web browser

Click the Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge icon once in the taskbar along the bottom of the screen. A browser window opens. More help: Open the web browser.

  2. Type the portal's address

Click once in the address bar, the long white box across the very top of the browser window. Type geo-surface.com/ditch-assist-idm-portal and press Enter.

If you are reading this page on the same computer, you can click this link instead: geo-surface.com/ditch-assist-idm-portal.

  3. Log in

The page asks you to log in. Click in each box and type the user name (or email address) and the password exactly as they are in the email from Ditch Assist. Capital letters matter. Then click the button to log in.

  4. Click Accept & Continue

A window opens in the middle of the screen called Welcome to Ditch Assist Owner IDM Portal. This is the owner portal: its own screens call it the IDM Portal.

It says the portal is for Ditch Assist owners and is meant for a full-size screen with a mouse. Click the blue Accept & Continue button at the bottom of the window to agree to the terms and start.

Welcome to Ditch Assist Owner IDM Portal window: notes that the portal is for Ditch Assist owners only, is best with a full-sized monitor and a mouse or trackpad, and that a backup can be restored from the Map Outputs tab; a blue Accept & Continue button at the bottom
    1. Accept & Continue. Bottom middle of the window. Opens the portal.

The green line Continuing a project? in the same window is for later days: you can carry on from a backup. See Back up and restore a project.

  5. Check the country

Look at the Country box near the top of the panel down the left side. It must show your country: Canada or United States. It decides where the LiDAR comes from and which search tools you get.

To change it, click the box and pick your country from the list. The page reloads and the welcome window opens again: click Accept & Continue once more.

Top of the portal's left panel: tabs Map Setup, Map Outputs and Upgrade, the Country box reading United States, and a yellow line reading Find your field, then outline it 1 2
    1. Country. Canada or United States.
    2. The yellow line. Always says what to do next.

If it doesn't work

  • The login is not accepted. Type it again exactly as it is in the email; capital letters matter. Still no luck, or you lost the password? Contact Ditch Assist support.
  • The welcome window keeps coming back. It shows every time you open the portal or change the country. Click Accept & Continue.
  • The page is cramped, or drawing is awkward. Use a computer with a full-size screen and a mouse, not a phone or tablet.
  • You want to carry on from another day. Back up your project before you close the portal, and restore it next time. See Back up and restore a project.
  • No reply to the form after a couple of working days. Call 1-833-DITCH-AS (1-833-348-2427).
