Imported overlay layers
Map Layers chapter of the Ditch Assist app manual. The same text is in the app under Manual.
In the app Manual › Map Layers › Imported overlay layers
Tap Layers FAB → Add Layer to import:
- KML — overlay polygons, lines, and points from any KML source. The app understands styles (colors, line widths) from the file. Only
.kmlfiles are accepted — KMZ (zipped KML) is not; unzip it to.kmlfirst. - WMS — connect to a remote WMS server. Enter the URL and the app fetches tiles. Useful for state GIS and county imagery servers.
- Image — a georeferenced JPG with a matching JGW world file. WGS84 only — projected images aren't supported here. Useful for scanned planning maps. Images load fully opaque so every detail shows; tap the arrow on the image's row in the layer list for an opacity slider (5 % steps — the right-hand end is 100 %, fully opaque) if you want to see the map through it.
- Drain-IQ — LiDAR-derived drainage data downloaded from the Drain-IQ portal. Existing elevation, ponding depths, depressions. Each layer is colored to a fixed ramp.
- My LiDAR Fields — re-open saved layers (flow lines, depressions, contours, imagery) from fields prepared in the LiDAR & Mapping workflow, so they can show on any survey or grade map.
To remove a layer: each layer row in the Layers dialog has a trash-can icon — tap it to remove the layer.
