Map Layers
Chapter of the Ditch Assist app manual. The same text is in the app under Manual.
In the app Manual › Map Layers
The map is the central visualization. Background imagery, your machine position, your track, the coverage heatmap, and any imported overlay layers all stack here.
Open the Layers FAB (bottom-right of the map) to manage them.
Map orientation — the arrow button above the GPS follow button switches between Track-up (the default: the map turns so your direction of travel points up the screen) and North-up (north stays at the top and the GPS arrow shows which way you're heading). The app remembers your choice. In Excavation the map is always north-up.
In Track-up, backing up does not spin the map: it keeps facing the way the machine faces, and the arrow points the way the machine faces while you reverse. The map only turns around if you keep driving the other way for about 40 m or 30 seconds — for example after a skid steer pivots in place and drives off.
