Working in Lite

Ditch Assist Lite chapter of the Ditch Assist app manual. The same text is in the app under Manual.

In the app Manual › Ditch Assist Lite › Working in Lite

Pick the mode chapter for any workflow and follow it — every workflow works in Lite. (For Excavation, read Excavation in Lite first.) Surveys, Slope-IQ and the other designers, benchmarks and calibration, saved jobs, coverage, alerts, and the Grade / Depth Guide all behave as described there. What is different is the last step: you move the blade.

Grading in Lite

  1. Load or create your design as the chapter describes and open the Grade screen.
  2. Tap START. The chevrons, the profile chart marker, the Grade / Depth Guide, and the coverage map go live, and the red Guidance Active banner across the top shows guidance is running — nothing moves the blade in Lite. There is no Pre-Start Safety dialog.
  3. Drive the run. Raise and lower the implement with the machine's own controls to keep the chevrons centered — up-arrows mean raise, down-arrows mean lower, and the number of arrows is how far off you are.
  4. Take the cut in stages, whichever way you prefer. With Auto-Nudge on, the app plans the passes and Pass + / Pass − step between them. With it off, use Nudge Up / Nudge Down: nudge the target up a few inches for the first pass, work it down pass by pass, and clear the nudge for the final pass.
  5. Tap STOP when you are done or whenever you leave the run. Your job autosaves as usual and can be resumed later.

What stays the same

  • RTK Fixed is still the only endorsed fix. If RTK drops, guidance pauses and an RTK LOST — GUIDANCE PAUSED warning appears (GPS STALE — GUIDANCE PAUSED when positions stop arriving) — there is no blade to hold in Lite, so treat it as a stop-and-wait signal; it clears on its own when the fix returns.
  • Benchmarks and calibration work exactly as in the Benchmark Reference. Blade height is still needed when you survey with the implement raised.
  • Contour guidance (Levee & Contour, Contour Tiling, Contour-Guided Terracing) works with an activated Reach: the lightbar and steering chevrons behave as those chapters describe.
  • Auto-Nudge, Max Cut Depth, and Pass + / Pass − work as in Ditch Assist.
  • Saved jobs from any workflow resume as usual.
  • LiDAR & Mapping is unlocked once any receiver is activated.

What you will not see

  • Raise / Lower and Hold / Resume.
  • The CONTROLLER, DIG MODULE FIRMWARE, and PRE-START SAFETY sections in Settings, the Rock Hit Detection row in GRADING (Rock Hit Detection is switched off in Lite), and the Send Commands row in DEBUG.
  • Hydraulic Raise / Lower test buttons in Pre-Flight Checks.

Everything listed here comes back the moment you switch Settings → Mode back to Ditch Assist.
