Before you start

Same prerequisites as any auto-grading mode:

1. RTK Fixed GPS (green badge in the stats bar).
2. Connection to the controller (green WiFi badge).
3. Correct blade height. Set in Settings → SURVEY → Blade Height or via Auto Measure.
4. Either a survey, a saved design, or a known grade you want to apply.

Simple Grading has a unique option: you can skip the survey entirely and enter a grade direct. This works because the design is just a flat plane — it doesn't need terrain to draw.

Use the survey when you want the chart to show how much cut and fill the plane will produce. Skip the survey when you already know the slope you want and just need the blade to follow it.

About the benchmark

Same rules as Ditching: calibrate when the GPS frame might have shifted (loaded design from disk, base station moved). Skip when you are working in the same session as the survey.
