Quick start

Terracing chapter of the Ditch Assist app manual. The same text is in the app under Manual.

In the app Manual › Terracing › Quick start

  1. Tap the Terracing card on the Home screen.
  2. The wizard appears. Choose New Survey to record both surveys, Load Surveys to pick saved channel and berm surveys, Load Saved Design to implement a finished design, or Resume Job to continue a saved terrace job.
  3. If new: drive the channel centerline, Start, drive end-to-end, Stop, save.
  4. The wizard prompts for the berm. Drive to the planned berm centerline, Start, drive end-to-end, Stop, save.
  5. The Terrace Design dialog opens at Channel Design. Adjust Channel Grade, Depth Offset, Channel Base Width, Side Slope.
  6. Tap Berm Analysis to advance. The dialog re-stations the berm survey onto the channel centerline and shows fill needs vs cut available. The volume strip displays current cut vs compaction-adjusted fill.
  7. If the cut is short, tap Auto-Balance — the dialog deepens the channel offset until the cut volume meets the compaction-adjusted fill volume. Or adjust by hand.
  8. Tap Review & Implement. The Implement step is a Ready to Grade summary — surveys used, total distance, channel grade, berm height, and the cut/fill/balance rows. There is no channel-first / berm-first choice: grading always starts on the Channel, and you switch halves with the sidebar Channel/Berm toggle.
  9. Tap Implement Slope. Calibrate BM if prompted.
  10. Grade the channel, then use the Channel / Berm toggle in the Grade screen to switch to the berm.
