Troubleshooting
Excavator chapter of the Ditch Assist app manual. The same text is in the app under Manual.

The depth display reads several inches off from where the bucket actually is. The benchmark offset is wrong. Drive the bucket to a known point, lower the cutting edge to it, and recalibrate the BM. There is no bucket-tip-height setting in the app (the Blade Height setting applies only to survey recording) — the DIG module handles the bucket-tip correction in hardware, so the only depth-aligning step in Excavator is the BM.
The bucket gauge is empty / not animating. Either GPS is lost (check the GPS Accuracy badge — should be green RTK Fixed) or auto-grading isn't started (tap Start).
Achieved-grade overlay isn't filling in green. You haven't actually reached grade in those bins. Watch the chevrons — they need to center for the overlay to record "achieved" at that bin.
The Auto-Nudge prompt appeared anyway. That's a leftover prompt — the app suppresses it for Excavator. If you see it, just tap Use Manual Nudge; it has no effect either way.
My BM survived a mode switch but the cut/fill numbers look wrong. The benchmark offset is held independently of the mode and persists across mode switches and app restarts. If elevations look off after a mode switch, it's not because the BM was cleared — it's almost certainly that you're using the BM from a different field or different RTK session. Tap the BM badge, check the offset, and recalibrate if it doesn't match where you are now.
The DIG card isn't showing on the connect step. The module cards sit behind the Manual Options expander — tap Manual Options to reveal the control module and DIG cards. The normal path doesn't need the card at all: tap Connect and auto-detect probes the DIG module first when the Excavator workflow is active.
The connection dropped right after I joined the DIG WiFi. Most likely the tablet automatically hopped back to a WiFi with internet — your shop WiFi, your phone's hotspot, or an office network. Re-join the DIG WiFi and mark it "stay connected" in the tablet's WiFi settings. See If the connection drops.
The Set Grade button in the bottom bar stays greyed out. The green button (labeled Set Grade on first use, Apply once a grade is set) stays disabled when the Target Grade % field is blank or invalid, or when the Depth Offset field contains an invalid value — the depth field may be left empty for zero offset. Both fields accept digits and a decimal point only; a minus sign won't type. Type a positive percent grade (0 is fine for a level pad) and pick Downhill or Uphill. No maximum is enforced; for surface drainage 0.05%–5% is the working range.
