Troubleshooting
Levee & Contour Guidance chapter of the Ditch Assist app manual. The same text is in the app under Manual.
In the app Manual › Levee & Contour Guidance › Troubleshooting
"Contour guidance is for Ditch Assist owners" appears. You tried to generate or follow contours without a control module connected. Connect to the module with the connection button at the top of the screen (or start Simulate to practice), then try again. Surveying and importing still work without it.
Contours will not generate / nothing happens after Generate. The data needs a module or the simulator connected to generate. Confirm the WiFi badge is green or you are in Simulate. Very sparse data (too few survey points) also will not build a usable surface — survey more of the field.
Contours come out far too close together or too far apart. The source units are wrong. Re-import the GeoTIFF or point file and pick the correct Source units (meters vs feet) in the contour settings dialog.
Contours look jagged or wiggly. Raise the smoothing slider in the contour settings and regenerate. Rough survey data benefits from more smoothing.
The lightbar and arrows seem backwards. They are complementary by design: the lightbar lights the side you drifted to (your error side), the arrows point the way to steer back. Always steer toward the arrows.
It will not let me start recording a survey. You need at least one benchmark first. Tap the Benchmark button, drop one at a spot you can return to, then tap Start.
My survey trail has gaps. RTK accuracy dropped on those stretches and the app paused logging (with the RTK Filter on). Drive back over the gaps with a good RTK Fixed lock to fill them in.
"RTK accuracy lost — guidance may be unreliable" banner. Your fix degraded below RTK while following. Guidance keeps running but is less accurate. Slow down or wait for RTK Fixed to return; check the GPS antenna and base if it persists.
My coverage or contours are gone after reopening. Load the job from Load Saved Job — the contours rebuild from the saved surface and your coverage paints back. If you used Clear All, the loaded session was wiped (saved jobs on disk are not affected).
The boundary I drew was rejected. The outline crossed over itself. Redraw it with simple, non-crossing edges around the field.
