GRADING
Settings Reference chapter of the Ditch Assist app manual. The same text is in the app under Manual.
In the app Manual › Settings Reference › GRADING
Inches Per Chevron — slider intended to set the error step per chevron arrow. The chevrons actually step in fixed 3″ increments below 12″ in the current build — see Inches Per Chevron behaviour under the Ditching → Reading the chevrons chapter for the full story. The default is 3.0″.
Nudge Sensitivity — depth change per Nudge Up / Nudge Down tap. Default 2″ imperial, 5 cm metric.
Max Cut Depth — max cut per pass for Auto-Nudge. Default 2″. Range 0.5″ to 12″. Lower for hard ground, higher for sandy or pre-loosened soil.
Auto Nudge — toggle Auto-Nudge globally on/off. Default ON. Turning it on or off applies to all workflows that support it (Slope-IQ, Simple Grade, Terrace, Forming); switching workflows does not reset the toggle. The post-implement prompt also exposes this setting per-design. Also shown in Ditch Assist Lite, where it only sets the target you steer to.
Rock Hit Detection — Tiling-only auto-nudge trigger. Default ON. When on, the app watches for the blade being pushed above the design and auto-nudges the target up. See Tiling → Rock-hit detection for the full behaviour and the false-trigger gotcha. Not shown in Ditch Assist Lite — it is switched off there, because it would move the target you are steering to without you asking.
Auto Balance Max Offset — the maximum total Depth Offset the Terracing Auto-Balance search will reach when hunting for cut/fill balance. Default 36″ (≈90 cm), adjustable 12″–120″ in 3″ steps via slider or typed value.
Draw on Map — toggle the map coverage heatmap. Default ON. Turn off if the heatmap is too busy.
Min Berm Height is not a Settings row in this build — it lives inside the Terrace design dialog as a per-design parameter (default 18″ / 46 cm; the value you pick persists as the next-design default). Compaction Allowance has no control anywhere — it is a fixed 15% factor built into the terrace volume math.
